Workforce Strategy Partners Programme
The Workforce Strategy Partners Programme (WSPP) is a funding scheme provided by the Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) to support third and private sector engagement in workforce reform.
Regional WSPP
Between February and July 2008, the CWDC funded a small number of pilot projects to test the feasiblity of extending the WSPP to a regional level. In particular, it was keen to see whether the WSPP funding stream would be an appropriate way to assist the development of regional strategies and action plans to increase the engagement of the third and private sectors in workforce development and to add value to work taking place through local WSPP projects in the region. Local WSPP
In April 2007, an allocation of funding was made available to each Children's Trust in England to support local WSPP work for a period of three years. The nature of WSPP projects differed from area to area, due to the focus on local workforce strategies, and the specific priorities with each local area.
