Children Matter East's Vision Statement for the VCS Sector

The sector wishes to ensure that it is able to continue to provide the best possible outcomes for children, young people and their families by maximising its ability to represent itself nationally, regionally and locally.

Strategic Aims of Children Matter East

  • To provide a cohesive arena in which members can develop and influence the policies and decision-making of national, regional and local partners.

  • To help co-ordinate the resources available to support the development of VCS organisations working with children, young people and their families in the East of England.

Stated Purpose

In line with the vision statement and strategic aims, Children Matter East will support the development of:

  • Sustainable and integrated voluntary and community-led services for children, young people and their families.

  • Better arrangements for Children's Trusts and their regional partners in delivering integrated outcomes for children, young people and families by engaging with local VCS organisations.

  • An effective regional interface and gateway with VCS organisations working with children, young people and their families - for statutory partners, stakeholders, central government initiatives and private fund holders.

  • Investment that enables VCS organisations working with children, young people and their families to be included in strategic and locality decision-making and governance arrangements.
