Organisational Development

Like other organisations, VCS groups working with children, young people and families need to ensure that they have appropriate arrangements to develop their organisational capacity in key areas, e.g. performance management, workforce development, financial management, quality assurance, business planning, governance, organisational health checks etc. The website of the Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC) can provide you with further information in many of these areas.

In addition, this section will be developed over time to provide specific guidance and tools to assist with this organisational development, based on examples of good practice provided by infrastructure organisations and VCS groups themselves.

Examples of Organisational Development Tools:

RAISE Workbooks - the Regional Action and Involvement South East (RAISE) organisation has developed five self-evaluation workbooks on the themes of ‘Accountability', ‘Equalities', ‘Governance', ‘Leadership' and ‘Representation'.
